“We are here. It is now. The rest is guesswork.”

“We are here. It is now. The rest is guesswork.”

– John Tarrant

I’m not against planning. But in a world that shifts under our feet, there’s a point where planning stops being useful and starts being theatre.

The more time we spend forecasting the future, the less time we spend responding to the present.

In complex systems, certainty is an illusion. Long-term plans give a sense of control, but it’s rarely real. What matters more is paying attention – now.

Working with what is, not what might be.

Short-term clarity. Light-touch planning. Real-time learning.

Then get back to the work. Because that’s where the insight lives.
